You can achieve anything you want in life as long as you break it down into small steps and take one step at a time. Taking many small steps, rather than one giant leap, reduces the chance that you will get overwhelmed. Staying out of overwhelm is an important aspect of achieving anything.
What constitutes a small step versus a giant leap is entirely up to you. No one else can define that for you (even though many will try). Just commit to something that you feel you can achieve. When you have done that, commit to something more.
Whatever steps you take; this is the beginning of your vegan journey. The beginning. Your vegan journey. Keep those two things clear in your mind. This is your vegan journey and no one else’s. You are going to make your own distinctions. You are going to define your own set of rules. And you are the only one that can judge your actions. Secondly, this is the beginning. Whatever you believe today, it will change with time as you become more aware and make more distinctions. This is not because you make wrong distinctions. It is because the more you become aware of the issues, the more refined your thinking will become, and your distinctions and decisions will become more refined.
If you keep it clear in your mind that you are making decisions that are consistent with your understanding of veganism, then it will seem reasonable to you that you will refine your decisions as you learn more about veganism.
